Marking its entrance into the UK solar market, REC has been awarded accreditation under the microgeneration certification scheme (MCS) for its Peak Energy Series Module. The certificate was awarded by the UK’s Board of Agrément, which grants approval for construction products, systems and installers.

Smart home technology firm PassivSystems has announced that it will supply Cleaner Air Solutions with 10,000 of its solar PV monitoring systems, enabling the solar PV distributor’s customers to protect their assets and simplify the feed-in-tariff process.

Norway-based solar energy company Innotech has received accreditation under the microgeneration certification scheme (MCS) for its Solar Economy Project product range. Granted by BABT/TUV Product Service, the Economy Project modules are now eligible for solar power subsidies in the UK.

Enecsys, the Cambridge-based micro-inverter company, has selected Wieland gesis RST 25i3/i5 connectors for connecting its solar inverters to the electricity grid system on the AC side of photovoltaic (PV) installations. The pre-wired, ‘plug and play’ Wieland connectors are factory tested and offer higher reliability and faster installation compared to onsite wiring.

The GeoInformation Group’s Solar Energy Mapping solution has recently been utilised by London-based Solar PV Engineering Procurement and Construction Contractor, M3 Solutions, in order to save time and effort in solar irradiance surveys. Delivered either as a detailed property report or database, the solar energy map identifies and measures building roof potential for solar panel installations.

Despite the recently launched feed-in tariff review, Cornwall Council is pushing ahead with plans for the first council-owned solar farm in the UK, Kernow Solar Park.
