OPDE, the Spain-based international company dedicated to the development, construction, operation and maintenance of solar farms, is now active in the UK. OPDE expects to develop and construct over 200MW in globally by 2012 and is currently acquiring licenses in order to do so.
The OPDE Group is formed by companies OPDE, Proinso and Mecasolar. Proinso also moved into the UK PV market, opening a new office located in Cardiff in 2010. The company is a distributor of PV equipment and has a recently announced a supply capacity of over 500MW for 2011.
OPDE will work with local developers to acquire projects with planning and agreements in place and offer financing and bankable EPC.
