Myriad Solar and Econic have won contracts to install solar PV and heat pumps respectively at St Bernard’s Hospital in Ealing, London.

The renewable generation technologies are being installed as part of the hospital’s redevelopment. Under the project the original Hanwell Asylum building, built in the 1830s and now Grade II listed, will be upgraded. The NHS hopes that the renewable generation technologies will not only help reduce bills, but also provide critical income through the renewable heat incentive and feed-in tariff.

The heat pump being installed by Econic will provide 310kW heating and 320kW cooling to the hospital. The green electricity will be provided by a 22kWp solar array consisting of Renesola panels.
