EvoEnergy are pleased to announce the completion of a 9.99kWp photovoltaic Solar Farm on Shefield University’s Hicks building. On site work commenced on 21st June 2010 and was live at close of play on 24th June 2010. EvoEnergy was chosen to design and commission the Solar Farm because of its proven track record in design and installation of bespoke photovoltaic solutions at Nottingham and Cambridge University’s.

EvoEnergy was commissioned by the University of Cambridge to design and install a 4.64kWp system consisting of 16 bespoke 290Wp mono-crystalline panels, installed on four custom fabricated solar ‘tree’ frames. The system has a predicted yearly output of 3,868 kWh/year, saving 2,197kgCO2/year. The project was the result of an open tender which EvoEnergy won due to their innovative and creative system design.

Electricity and gas regulator for Great Britain, Ofgem, has officially released figures for the amount of solar photovoltaic installations in the UK since the feed-in tariff was introduced. The figures show that PV has significantly overtaken any other renewable energy source in the past four months, hitting a total of 11.266MW since April 1st.
