Birmingham has been announced as the host city for the annual Solar Power UK Conference and Exhibition in October 2011, which is organised by Solar Media Ltd. Over 3,000 solar industry participants, 30% of which will be overseas visitors, are due to descend on the city during the conference following sell-out events in Munich and London in 2010.

Caplor Energy has completed the installation of a 6.3kWp solar array on the roof of Fownhope Memorial Village Hall, in Herefordshire. By utilising solar energy, the community building aims to reduce energy bills, decrease CO2 as well as generate cash for the local area.

This system was installed by Engensa, for Imperial College graduate Paul, who lives in Maidenhead.

Vogt Solar has now officially submitted plans for the 5MW solar plant to be constructed on land to the north of Bourn, Cambridgeshire.
