Marking its entrance into the UK solar market, REC has been awarded accreditation under the microgeneration certification scheme (MCS) for its Peak Energy Series Module. The certificate was awarded by the UK’s Board of Agrément, which grants approval for construction products, systems and installers.

In the face of the recently announced feed-in tariff review, Sharp has called on the UK Government not to negate the early success of the FiT. This move is supported by the Shadow energy minister Huw Irranca-Davies, MP.

Norway-based solar energy company Innotech has received accreditation under the microgeneration certification scheme (MCS) for its Solar Economy Project product range. Granted by BABT/TUV Product Service, the Economy Project modules are now eligible for solar power subsidies in the UK.
